Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

Couples. Recurring Conflict. Disconnection. Rebuilding Trust. Attachment.

EFT helps partners get out of the same fight and back to each other. It works beneath the surface argument, with the emotions and attachment needs that keep the fight coming back.

EFT is one of the best-researched couples therapies there is, and a reliable path out of gridlock. No taking sides, and every kind of partnership is welcome here.

Who it’s for

Couples stuck in the same recurring conflict, feeling disconnected, or working to rebuild trust, and partnerships of every kind are welcome.

How it works

We slow down the cycle you keep getting caught in, name the softer feelings and attachment needs underneath it, and use those to rebuild closeness and trust.

Common questions

Do you take sides?

No. EFT goes after the pattern between you, with both of you on the same side of it. Who’s right was never the interesting question.

How many sessions does EFT take?

EFT is typically an 8–20 session course of therapy, depending on how long the pattern has had to dig in. Couples usually feel the fights losing heat before the deeper rebuilding work is done.

What if my partner won't come?

Start without them. A recurring fight is a two-person dance, and one person changing their steps changes the dance. Partners also often join later, once therapy stops being a hypothetical.

Is couples therapy covered by insurance?

It varies by plan more than individual therapy does. Tell us your plan when you reach out and we’ll check exactly what’s covered before your first session, so there are no surprises on the bill.
